Each month we will be highlighting one of our amazing employees. We’ll ask them some work-related questions and also some not-so-work-related questions – hopefully, you’ll be able to see why we think we’ve got the best people around.
First, tell us your job role and how long you’ve been at Motivation Excellence.
I am a Travel Coordinator and I have been at MEI for 2 and a half years.
You’re an alumnus of:
University of Missouri
What’s the most important thing you’ve learned on the job?
How to be better at customer service. We deal with so many different people, each with their own unique personality that working in customer service really requires you to be a sort of chameleon with your own personality so that the customer walks away happy.
What three traits define you?
Outgoing, stubborn, sassy.
Do you have a personal philosophy/motto?
Whatever is going to happen will happen. Basically I think that there is only so much influence you have on a situation so don’t stress out about things that you can’t change.
What’s one thing you couldn’t live without?
My cat. I’m obsessed (what a surprise!!)
Where is the best place you’ve traveled to, andwhy?
Italy is my favorite place I have ever traveled. The food is amazing and there is so much culture there. Every city has something different.
What’s the weirdest job you’ve ever had?
I worked at a party store. I’m a pro at curling ribbons.
What would you do (for a career) if you weren’t doing this?
I don’t have the skills for it, but I think I would like to be an interior designer or maybe a florist! Something creative where you get to make something beautiful.
If you could have another job for just one day, what would it be?
Animal trainer at a zoo. It would be really cool to work with all different kinds of exotic animals!
If you were a superhero, what would you want your superhero powers to be?
It’s not so much what I would want my superpowers to be, but I’m always so static-y that I am convinced if I get bit by that radioactive bug, I’m going to have electricity powers.
Favorite band/musician of all time?
It’s Saturday afternoon. We will usually find you:
In my bed watching Netflix or on the couch watching Netflix. And cuddling with my cat.
Tell us about your hobbies outside of work?
Singing is probably the hobby I’ve had the longest! I’ve been in a bunch of different choirs since I was about 12. My sisters complain because I never stop singing!
Tell us one thing your coworkers would probably be surprised to learn about you.
I really love history. Especially European history!
You’re happiest when:
I am traveling!
